What CopticWeb is NOT?
It is
probably more appropriate to first explain
what this site is NOT about. There seems to
be a widespread belief and assumption that
the word Coptic only relates to the
Christian Orthodox Egyptian community. The
word Coptic comes from
gyptios
Egyptian and Aigyptios Greek,
originally meant
a member of
a people descended from Ancient Egyptians.
One of the main reasons we chose that name
is that we, the founders of CopticWeb are
Egyptians. So this website is probably the
only one on the internet that is staying
true to the original meaning of the word.
This website does not ONLY caters to Coptic
Orthodox visitors, but many other
communities as well. As you can see from our
slogan at the top of the page, our mission
is bringing Middle Eastern Christians
together. The Church of Jesus Christ is
anyone who believes in him. And for all our
non-Christian visitors, we welcome you just
the same.
What is
CopticWeb?
CopticWeb is
your portal to the internet. The goal of
this website is to create a place where many
of you would call home. If this is your
first time here, then you might not know
where to start. But that is perfectly OK,
because anywhere on the site is a good place
to start. Ask yourself what got you here in
the first place. Were you looking for
News about the Middle East? Did you want
to listen to some Arabic or Egyptian
Music? Were you searching for an
Arabic
Movie or Free TV? Or maybe you just
wanted to catch up on your
Spiritual readings? The good news is
that you came to the right place. But that's
not all that this website offers.
It would take too long to list all the
things you can see, read and do at CopticWeb.
We invite you to constantly explore the
site, and visit a different area everyday.
Even after you have seen everything that we
offer, we advise you to constantly check our
